RRB Group D Vacancy 2026 (Post-wise)
The 22,195 vacancies are distributed across engineering, mechanical, and electrical departments. The largest share of vacancies belongs to the Track Maintainer Grade IV role.

Eligibility Criteria & Age Limit
To apply for Level-1 posts, you must meet the following criteria as of January 1, 2026:
- Educational Qualification: 10th Class (Matriculation) pass from a recognized board OR ITI certificate/National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC).
- Age Limit (General/EWS): 18 to 33 years.
- Age Relaxation: * OBC (NCL): 3 years (Up to 36 years)
- SC/ST: 5 years (Up to 38 years)
- PwBD: 10 years
Selection Process & Exam Pattern
The selection involves a single-stage Computer-Based Test (CBT) followed by physical assessments.
1. Computer Based Test (CBT)
The exam lasts 90 minutes and consists of 100 objective questions.
- General Science: 25 Questions
- Mathematics: 25 Questions
- General Intelligence & Reasoning: 30 Questions
- General Awareness & Current Affairs: 20 Questions
- Negative Marking: 1/3 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.
2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
- Male Candidates: Carry 35kg for 100m in 2 mins + Run 1000m in 4 mins 15 secs.
- Female Candidates: Carry 20kg for 100m in 2 mins + Run 1000m in 5 mins 40 secs.
RRB Group D Salary & Benefits
Selected candidates are placed in Level-1 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix.
- Basic Pay: ₹18,000
- Initial In-hand Salary: Approximately ₹22,000 – ₹25,000 (including HRA, DA, and Transport Allowance).
- Allowances: Night duty allowance, daily allowance, and travel concessions for self and family.
